Management
Don Bischop, Store Manager for Regina East location, has been involved in the wine store retail business for over 15 years. He started with a local store and then moved to the Wine Mine franchise which was later purchased by Wine Kitz. Don has managed the east location for over 10 years, and has a wealth of knowledge for all levels of wine makers. Don is also our resident expert on all things regarding home made fruit wines. He is very focused on ensuring that Wine Kitz customers are choosing wines that meet their needs and tastes. His experience has assisted in developing the strong team of part time people as well.
Background
David & Leona Carvell purchased the Wine Kitz franchises in March/ 2005, and have continued to grow the business by offering a range of new products and services as well as building on the outstanding range of products from Wine Kitz.
David spent over 30 years in the Agricultural Business in Saskatchewan and western Canada and established a strong sense of what was required on the Customer Service front. His extensive management experience has assisted in pushing Wine Kitz to the forefront of the home wine making enterprises in Regina and southern Saskatchewan. His passion for complete customer satisfaction and going the extra mile has paid off over many years; it now assists in the growth of the Wine Kitz franchises in Regina.
Leona is a Registered Nurse who continues to work in Regina as a Palliative Home Care nurse; her attention to detail and compassion and empathy form part of this team’s desire to become partners with their customers and fulfill all their wine making needs.
David and Leona have traveled extensively for business and pleasure, and have developed an excellent knowledge of wines from various regions of the world, which has driven their own passion for wine making. David was a Wine Art / Wine Kitz customer for more than 12 years prior to buying the stores, and thus understood and appreciated the quality of the products offered. David and his staff have focused on developing a reputation with their customers as wine making partners and problem solvers.
David and Leona employ two full time store managers and seven part time people to ensure that they can offer seven day a week service and some extended hours. All their employees are seasoned wine and beer makers, so you know you can depend on their knowledge when you have a question.
